This season on Shark Tank, a group of young inventors who call themselves "The Inventioneers" approached the "Tank" with a new innovative way to prevent drivers from taking their hands off the wheel.  The SMARTwheel is a device that uses touch sensitive receptors on a steering wheel that is made visible with an LED strand wrapped inside of the steering wheel handle.  This handle turns red and creates a ringing sound when the driver pulls one hand off of the wheel or is driving with unsafe hand positioning.  When the correct hand positioning is recognized by the wheel, the wheel turns green and the sound halts until the correct position is lost.

While this sounds like a great idea, will it be an effective way to keep people from texting and driving?  What could make this product better and more effective?
